WHAT IS THIS ABOUT & WHO AM I ?

This blog will be about fun travel motorcycle stories. The blog was established: August, 2016 and will evolve over-time to become a motorcycle story space for people to share and enjoy. A rich cast of characters will come and go. All opinions are mine, or where noted contributing motorcyclists, and I take full responsibility for them - I claim, complete insanity. All names have been changed to protect the guilty! The stories are true and real for sure, but from my perspective only (code for embellishment). If you don't like a story, please don't send hate email, just go away and delete it on your browser. If you have a worthy biker story too, feel free to share it. Why the name Don Quixote (or "Don Quijote")? It being the first Western novel and the fact that during his dreams at night is when he had his adventures as the errant knight. Much like motorcycling and riding is to me every time I do it... As the errant rider!

I, Luke Fargo (my pseudonym), am an avid bike and motorcycle lover, who's been riding anything with a motor on two wheels since I was 6 years old. To date I have ridden over 1.6 million miles and counting. This includes over 20 thousand plus miles on dirt and in the desert, and the remainder of it on the street. Now that I am older, I wanted to share some of the many memories and stories I have accumulated over the years.

I remember back in the mid-1960s when my Dad brought home a used mini-bike. You know the type, a 3.5 HP lawn mower motor mounted on a solid frame with a centrifugal clutch that got so hot it glowed at night. I vividly remember that when  I got on it and twisted my wrist, gave it all the gas it could take, and went as fast as it could down our country road, then getting off of it and my entire body shaking with adrenaline. To this day, I still get this same feeling every single time I get off of any motorcycle. To me this is one of the best highs anyone could want or experience. I was hooked, onto a life-long affair. Riding a bike, I find, is the most relaxing Zen-like experience one can have - consistently. Like after a hard day at work - I hop on the bike and all my troubles melt away with each mile. Now that I'm retired... my new job is to check all those roads. Hundreds of them... I take my job seriously!

I have owned a LOT of motorcycles over the years - and like them ALL. Just ask my wife, when we met I had 5 and ran a motorcycle enduro-touring business in Texas (Big Bend National Park area). So this blog is about those on the road stories and experiences that just happen because of the culture of motorcycling.

So join Luke and his riding friends, and share your story on this site. Just email is story to share. Select Contact above and follow the bouncing ball!
